Can't sleep so excited about the beach tomorrow. My sister and I are going to drive down around 4/5ish this morning. Its only a 5 hour drive so we should get there around 10am. Too bad we can't get the keys to the house until 2pm so we are just gonna chill at the beach, not a bad way to pass time.

Today was my last day of my internship, bittersweet. I defiantly learned a lot though. Real Estate is very interesting, and there is a lot of money to be made [and lost] it in if you are no careful.  I have already started to save for a house after graduation. I figure I am a step ahead of most college students at-least by thinking about owning my own house.

After work I treated myself bought a new camera for the trip. Hopefully this one will last longer than my average camera lifespan of three months. Car is packed got all I need; cooler full of beer, bathing suit, acoustic guitar, golf clubs,  surf board and some good books. Life is Good.

My family Needs It's Own Reality TV Show

First off I have to apologize for the quality of my last entry. I was extremely tired when I wrote that I could barley keep my eyes open, all the grammar errors! Well that aside summer is almost over! I will be back at school in the middle of August and next week I am leaving for the beach. A whole week at the beach with my mother's family. Luck us mom's got a pretty big family...4 sisters, 1 step sister and 2 step brothers plus all their kids. Its going to be crazy we got like 30 people in one house. Can you say chaos. I love it though, we have been doing this "mini family reunion" for the past three years.

And every year something crazy happens. Just a quick sample for ya 2 years ago a cousin got his hand stuck in a elevator thus we had to call the local fire department, then last year me and my three cousins had a "slight" run in with the local police department for having too much fun on the beach.  Needless to say there will lots of drama, and even more alcohol to get though this week. All I can say is the girls on "The Hills" don't even compete with all the drama that goes down this weekend. Hey thats a good idea for a reality TV series!  I like to think of mom's family like the modern day Clampetts (if you have no idea who the Clampetts are google Beverly Hillbillies).  Pics and maybe even a youtube video will be posted I promise :)

I am nervous though I have a big golf tournament on Sunday at the beach. Fingers crossed I will do well... especially with my family there and all.

I am so excited but kinda sad at the same time. See right after I come home from the beach I have two days to pack then have to drive down to school, so it means the end of summer for me. Gosh it has flown by.

Back from my trip to Boston. I just realized  how much I love airports. Strange I know, but there is something about airports that I love. I realize that after graduation I definitely want a job where I can travel. Not just a little traveling I want to travel everywhere. Long distances.  Its funny I always like traveling with a big group an entourage... a team. I really don't even mind having my flight delayed I could sit at the terminal and watch people all day long.  Just listen to my Ipod and watch all the people going to all different places all around the globe, its somewhat therapeutical.

Speaking of therapy, I have been writing more songs. haha writing is like my therapy, cliche I know.  It like all of a sudden someone has just turned on a switch ideas have been pouring out of me. I have to keep a notebook with me all the time,I never know when I am going to get a good idea.

I am so tired I am falling asleep writing this...

Stereotypes

Stereotypical Russian?
I am scared of Russians.

I know what you are thinking...

"Well that's kinda of problem K since you are going to be studying abroad in RUSSIA, and Russians are typically found in Russia."

My mom brought up the subject the other day.

"You don't wanna go to Russia, its cold and the people there never smile

Then I thought about it some and she was right. Look at American culture, the stereotypical Russian is a rather large man who is serious, mean and an alcoholic. O and who wears one of those fur hats with the ear covers.  They give off an aura of coldness (physically cold and emotionally that it) and they rarely smile. Pretty much the exact opposite of myself, okay most maybe a bit of the alcoholic part is true. But all and all the culture is completely different. Southern ladies have a reputation for their hospitality and their tactfulness. They are small, dainty and dressed to the nines.

That all being said I still want to go to Russia and I still plan on going to Russia come January. Breaking stereotypes is what this trip is all about. Going outside of my comfort zone, living spontaneously. Seeing what the world has to offer... what the hell could it hurt? I certainly have nothing to lose.

Just a thought

Dinner Parties

I have found that after living on your own for a year away from your parents too now back a home living with them for a couple of months is quiet the transition.  After freshman year I went home for the summer, however now I am older and have my own busy schedule. Even though I live in the same house as my parents, rarely do we see each other.  Usually things work out fine, they let me do my own thing, they understand I am busy with work and starting the business. However last week I was informed my presence was being requested at a dinner/cocktail function my Dad was hosting for his business associates. Fine. I know the importance especially in business of the power of network. However this crowd tonight is only going to responded to lots of ass kissing. Thats okay I'll be ready, I smuggled away a bottle of chardonnay from the kitchen. So right now I am drinking, writing and trying to get ready for the shit thats going to be flying!

Work. Gym. Golf. Supper. Guitar. Sleep. Repeat. That is my day in a nut shell.

This week was the first week of my new training program. O my gosh its kick my ass.  I am in the gym for 2 hours now 5 days a week. The new diet plan my trainer put me on is screwing with my energy levels that or the fact I only sleep 4 hours a night. It just takes time for the body to adjust I guess. Its already been worth it though I can definitely see results on the golf course.

I have been tinkering around writing some stuff. At dinner tonight out of the blue a song idea hit me. I had to excuse myself and go write it down. Its coming together nicely I suppose, it hits very close to home. Also messing around with a program on my mac, Garage band, I finished two instrumentals that I really like, maybe I'll post them.

I love my Takamine G series. I love it so much that when I first got it I put away my Strat in the closet and haven't touched it since.  Well today I wondered in to the small guitar store near the office. This baby caught my eye ...

I am in LOVE
Owner took it down for me and from the first note I fell in love. Its a Daisy Rock Brand Retro H- DeLuxe. Daisy Rock is a company who specifically build their guitars for a woman's smaller hand. I thought the owner was going to have to pry it out of my hands!

Bulleted ListSo just out of curiosity I decided to google "Golf Courses in Russia". The whole country has a whopping FOUR, 4, let me repeat that FOUR golf courses! Apparently golf isn't that big in Russia. I have about 4 courses in a 20 mile radius of my house right now and my school in the states has their own course on campus.  The good news however is that 3 out of the 4 courses are in Moscow. Moscow actually has a country club and there is a Pestovo a Golf and Yacht club. I was a bit confused about the yacht club part I am looking at the map and Moscow is pretty inland. At least the Le Meridien Moscow Country Club looks promising.

A more logical reason why to choose studying abroad in Russia vs. other countries....

Russians love Vodka and I love Vodka
(I mention this too my mother she wasn't too amused)

Can you believe that is actually Lomonosov Moscow State University, the school where I will hopefully be studying at in the spring.  It looks more like a hotel than a school. 40,000 students. Wow I knew my school of 17,000 wasn't alot but 40,000?!?! So excited!  I have got to start studying Russian and soon....

It's the Simple Things....

I love the feeling of getting a lot accomplished at the end of the day. Woke up early went to the gym before work and ran 2.5 miles for my warm up. Not bad gotta get it up to at least five miles though. I had a great workout so I had plenty of endorphins to get me through the work day. Ate extremely healthy the whole day. Came home went to the driving range and hit balls. Then I had a wonderful light meal with my family on the back deck. And I forgot to mention I finally found a manufacture for my clothing line, so thats exciting. Only bad note about my day... I haven't touched my guitar once. So unlike me tomorrow I will have to practice twice as long.  I am going to bed tired but fulfilled .

"On the Road Again"

Came home from the beach today. I am writing this trying to avoid unpacking, which I absolutely hate to do. Love to pack hate to unpack. The drive has 6 1/2 hours long.  4 of which were dead silent, no music,  thanks to my little sister who is the lightest sleeper ever.  For someone like myself who can't stand doing anything in silence that was a big deal for me. I love music, and am addicted to my Ipod. If I had to chose between my Blackberry or my Ipod, no contest Ipod.

During the trip I came up with the idea to post my playlists on my blog . I should warn you I have the most eclectic taste in music and not just American music. I  have songs on my ipod in Spanish, French, Arabic, German, Polish and Italian. Keeping in mind I only know English, well actually thats not true.  I was born in Italy and did speak some Italian when I was small but I have forgott
en it since and I did study Latin in school and right now I am trying to learn some Russian for my trip but none the less.  O well I have got to finish unpack I can't procrastinate on this longer or else I won't be able to sleep in my bed...

Half way unpacked (Sorry this picture is blurry its a cellphone camera picture )

Good Night

From Russia with love... well not yet at least

Exciting news, I am going to study abroad in....
(In case you didn't recognize thats the Russian Flag)
Russia (Moscow Specifically)

You are probably thinking "Why Russia"? Well my reply is "why the hell not?". Sure I consider it being "cold" outside 65  degrees (thats like 19 C) and my definition of "warm" is around 90 degrees (32 C).  Yes I do wear my flip flops all year round and  an inch of snow is a big deal for me and yes I wear my Ugg boots with a mini skirt and not "snow pants". But really why not? The whole point of going abroad is to experience different things.

Laugh all you want (or shake your head as my mom did when I explained my logic) but I just got a feeling. Thats all I can say, I have a gut feeling that I am going to love it.   You only live once so why not be spontaneous and spicy up life. Moscow is calling me and you know what I am going to answer!

пока
(that's goodbye in Russian...I hope :) )

It's Officially Summer

Finally my summer has begun. Initially this summer I was working my full time internship in the city, working a part time job at night and taking a 6 week summer class, in addition to starting up my own clothing company. Well as of yesterday I have finished up my summer class and worked my last day at my night job.  Hooray for no more 65 hour work weeks! Now to celebrate with a trip to the beach. Four straight days of laying out in the sun and reading (okay maybe 3, I gotta play some golf one day).
Happy  [early] Fourth of July  Y'all!

The Beginning

Hello World,
So I have begun this adventure of writing my own blog. What caused this spark I have no idea, I am not famous or live some wild and crazy lifestyle. Okay  I'll admit the life of a college student can get a bit wild and crazy :) I am sure I'll be writing about some crazy escapades later not to worry. Anyways about how I decided to start writing a blog. I am currently on vacation at the beach. Every morning since we arrived I have gotten up before sun rise and run on the beach. Usually when I go for a run, I just crank up the volume on my Ipod and run, my thoughts all kinda of just dissolve away. However today as I was running I started thinking.

I am at this point of my life where I decided what type of human being I want too become. Its kinda of like I am going on a trip I just packed my car, now I get to decided my route and my destination. It finally dawned on me that I can be anything I want to be, my future is wide open.  No longer do I have to follow my parents. I am on my own, now its up to me.  My first reaction was to be scared shitless but  now I am excited.

Then I figured since this is a "somewhat"  important time in my life I should probably document it. I have tried to do the whole diary/journal thing however I would wind up losing it or forgetting about it thus failing to write constantly. Being a child of the whole "internet era" I knew the sad reality that I would probably be dead the day I didn't have my blackberry or my laptop at my side.  So blogging just made sense. So sit back and buckle up I am in the driver seat for this crazy ride called life
